King of the forests, symbol of wisdom, power and immortality, the oak tree is solid and resistant to the test of time. Living up to 500 years, oak has to synthesize molecules of defence and protection for adapting to its environment.
Thanks to its powerful antioxidant capacity, It reduces the harmful effects of oxidative stress involved in scalp ageing. Hair follicles are the target of radical peroxide attacks which cause bleaching and loss of vitality of hair and the slowdown in its growth. The protective effect of the extract has been tested on hair follicle cells submitted to oxidative stress induced by lipid peroxide. It reduces by 78% the production of free radicals responsible for the premature ageing of hair follicle.
Also tests have been carried out on skin to show that this concoction reduces free radical production after UVA exposure of the scalp.

Melanin formation: Keratinocytes produce melanin stimulating hormone (α-MSH) and interleukin. α-MSH binds to melanocortin receptor (Mc1-r), activates tyrosinase, and catalyses the conversion of tyrosine into dopamine, which is converted into dopa quinone, and dopa and dopa quinone oxidize to form melanin.
Acetyl Hexapeptide- It has affinity to Mc1-R, which is a biomimetic peptide simulating a-MSH. It combines with MC1-R, activates tyrosinase, catalyzes conversion of tyrosine to dopa, dopa conversion to dopquinone, dopa and dopquinone oxidation aggregation to form melanin. Meanwhile, it also promotes the transfer of melanin from melanocytes to keratinocytes, coloring the hair.
Why not to use Hair Dye's?
1. Ammonia based hair dyes
Ammonia is a common ingredient of many modern-day hair colours, which serves the purpose of breaking through the hair cuticle and allows the colour to deposit itself there. However, the entire beauty industry knows how this action can lead to the natural structure of your hair degrading, further leading to dry, brittle, dull, and unhealthy-looking hair.
Not to mention, ammonia is also known to cause allergic reactions, skin burns, dermatitis, and trigger respiratory problems too.
2. Ammonia-free dyes
Monoethanolamine (MEA), the chemical used to replace ammonia in hair dyes performs the same function of opening up the cuticle and thus, can cause a similar degree of hair damage as ammonia. Just because a certain hair dye does not contain ammonia, it does not mean it is safer for you. The only difference is that MEA is not as harmful for the overall health as ammonia. But just like ammonia, it doesn’t spare the hair,.
3. Peroxide-free hair colours are also dangerous
This set of chemicals present in hair colours to break through the hair cuticle and let the colour get deposited are peroxides, and if a certain product claims to be free from them, it still doesn’t guarantee safety. Peroxide-free hair colours don’t break through the hair cuticle to deposit the colour, which means that the colour won’t stay for very long and ultimately, the person will have to get a hair colour done more frequently, amounting to the same degree of damage.
4. Hair fall will be there
The opening of the cuticle, which is an essential step in hair colouring, can weaken the hair and cause hair breakage. However, hair colours can damage the hair from its roots itself by sucking out the moisture from the scalp and weakening the roots. Thus, hair fall is yet another side-effect of colouring and dying your hair. Dye your hair and you are bound to have hair fall.
5. Dyed hair needs lot of care
when it comes to dyeing your hair using chemical-laden wax/gels/sprays or simply heated styling appliances, there is nothing that can stop the resulting hair damage.
However, this damage increases ten folds in case of coloured/ dyed hair. With the colour already sucking the moisture out of the hair, styling your hair will make it even drier, and thus, more brittle and prone to breakage.

How to use:
Use twice daily, in the morning after bath and in the night 1 hour before going to bed. Apply the serum generously all over the scalp with the dropper provided. Massage lightly with your fingertips in circular motion. Wash hands after massage. Leave overnight. Wash hair with Ubava Hair Shampoo in the morning. Can be used together with Ubava Hair growth Serum and Ubava AD Hair Serum (Anti- Dandruff Hair Serum).
